Learning guitar from the classroom to develope intelligence

Flamenco guitarist Carlos Piñana manages the pedagogical, art and culture program of flamenco aimed at children

In a world on wich technologies are present in a large part of our lives, learning guitar or music, in general, has a difficult path to get into children's daily lives

Learning guitar or any other instrument or musical discipline is very important for the human being, in fact, some studies showed, that music classes develop children's intelligence.

Some research links cognitive development with music learning. But, when we talk about learning, we should not confuse it with just listening to music, we are referring to learning music, learning guitar or another instrument or musical discipline.

According to the journal Psychological Science, at the University of Toronto, during a year, a study was conducted comparing the evolution of intelligence to four groups of children six years of age.

Three groups studied different artistic disciplines, specifically: singing, dramatic art and piano. A fourth group did not receive any extra class to normal education.

When the period ended, the evolution of intelligence was different for each group of children.

All children were tested for intelligence before and after, obtaining better results for the groups that studied piano and singing, a lower evolution in the group that studied dramatic art and a much lower evolution in the group that did not study any of the disciplines artistic

If studies show us that music study allows a greater increase in the intelligence of children, as well as a greater cognitive development, children trained in music also have a better capacity for reading comprehension.

Before understanding the meaning of words, the youngest respond to the melody of what we say, as well as the rhythm we use, so that learning music at an early age helps to maintain a constant musical rhythm and consequently contributes directly to the better learning to read.

High-level artists constantly claim the role of music in the education of children and it is no wonder. After knowing all the available information, it is very evident that learning guitar or other musical instrument, clearly benefits children, there is no doubt.

The art and culture of flamenco enter the classroom

Flamenco guitarist, Carlos Piñana, manages a pedagogical program to bring the art and culture of flamenco to the little ones.

In the mentioned program, Carlos Piñana, who is also the professor of the Murcia Conservatory, brings to the classrooms basic notions of singing, dancing, guitar and "cajón", as well as the history of "jondo" art .

A pioneering program in the Murcia region to bring young people closer to Flamenco which it will reach 24 schools. This experience had already started in Andalusia with very good reception and important successes.

An opportunity to inculcate culture to the little ones and motivate them to learn guitar, percussion, singing or dancing, or what is more important, to teach them to enjoy music.
